The former Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka has praised the Juventus manager Antonio Conte by saying that it is a pleasure to work with the manager, who managed to guide Juventus to their first league title after several years. Even though Juventus managed to win the title last season, strikers were not especially strong at the club. Hence, they decided to bring in the former Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka from the Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua. The Frenchman has great experience of playing in several leagues across Europe, but it is his first move to an Italian club.

After going through a patchy spell during the month of January, Juventus once again extending their lead at the top of the table over the second placed Napoli. The QPR manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed that the club will not be bringing in the former Chelsea and Bolton striker Nicolas Anelka during the January transfer window. QPR have been struggling a lot in the Premier league this season, which has been mainly due to the lack of strikers after the injury to Bobby Zamora and Johnson. Both players will be missing a large portion of the season, which leaves Harry Redknapp with only Cisse as the only recognised striker at the club. Hence, he has admitted that he would like to bring in a few fresh players during January.
Nicolas Anelka has been one of the key names mentioned in a lot of tabloid papers due to the fact that the Frenchman is extremely unhappy with life in Chinese football. Anelka move to the Chinese league almost a year ago. He is one of the highest-paid players in the world with his contract reportedly paying him around £ 220,000 per week. He is also not prepared to take a wage cut in order to return to European football, which means that the club will not be able to offer him and his huge salary according to Redknapp. Hence, the club will be pursuing other transfer targets during January.
“These are all great players but we are not in any negotiations. Anelka is a fantastic player but I don’t think we can afford him. We are not in any negotiations with him,” said the QPR manager. The club recently had their first win of the season following the win over Fulham. This has helped them lift themselves out of the bottom. The 33-year-old Nicolas Anelka has also been linked with the likes of West Ham, but his massive wages could prove to be a major problem for Sam Allardyce as well.

The former Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka could be return for another stint in European football after it was revealed that his current club Shanghai Shenhua are discussing the possibility of cancelling his contract. Nicolas Anelka was one of the first high-profile players to arrive in Chinese football after signing a contract worth around £ 240,000 per week with the Chinese club. They are bankrolled by a businessman, who is threatening to pull the plug out of the club over various disputes. This would mean that the club will by no means be able to pay the massive wages of the Frenchman.
As a result, they are reportedly in talks with the player over the possibility of cancelling his contract, which would allow him to return to European football where he has been linked with a number of clubs like West Ham United. The West Ham manager Sam Allardyce got the best out of the Frenchman during his spell at Bolton Wanderers and he is keen to link up with the 33-year-old once again. Anelka has not made a huge amount of impact at Shanghai Shenhua, while he was recently joined by his former Chelsea teammate Didier Drogba. Drogba is also on a similar pay packet, but has already scored eight goals in just 11 matches for the club.
“The discussion is between the club and himself, I don’t know about the specific details. But so far we haven’t got the final result,” said a spokesman of the Chinese club, Shanghai Shenhua. Due to the fact that he is available on a free transfer if he is released from his contract, Anelka would be of major interest to various clubs across Europe. There has even been talk of the Premier league club Liverpool being interested in securing his services due to the lack of striking options.

The former Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka has launched an attack on his former club Chelsea by saying that they have treated the veteran players in the worst possible fashion. Nicolas Anelka was a £15 million signing from Bolton in 2009. He spent three seasons at Chelsea before completing his free transfer to the Chinese league in the January transfer window of last season. He has said that he had no other option but to leave the club after he was forced out of the first team by the then-manager Andre Villas-Boas. Anelka has said that Chelsea have a policy of forcing out the players over the age of 30.
Nicolas Anelka recently made these comments after being asked about the status of his international colleague Florent Malouda. The 32-year-old French midfielder has been frozen out of the first team action by the club. He came extremely close to leaving the club in the summer, but having failed to do so, is now training with the reserve team. Anelka has said that the thought by Chelsea that the players over the age of 30 cannot contribute to the team is extremely wrong. The futures of Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard has also been in doubt throughout this season.
“At Chelsea, as soon as you get past 30, you get the impression you’re too old. It’s sad what’s happening to Flo [Malouda]. Two years ago, he was named player of the year. Chelsea could react in another way. When they need you, you’re the best. When they don’t, get lost,” said the 33-year-old former Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka regarding the situation faced by Florent Malouda. Malouda recently revealed through his personal fitness coach that he is feeling extremely fit right now. The former Lyon midfielder is expected to leave the club in the January transfer window.
